Are you ambitious?
Do you want to achieve success?
Do you seek greatness?
I thought so.
Me too.
Well let me tell you – it all starts with reading. Or to be more precise – reading the right books on ambition and being ambitious. But there are literally thousands of books on these topics so how do we know which ones to read?
Let me introduce my friend Mani Vaya. Mani has accomplished the herculean task of summarizing the best 2000 books for entrepreneurs. Click here to visit Man's website, 2000books.com. He also has an amazing YouTube channel in which he talks extensively about which books he personally recommends.

So without further ado, Mani will give to you the top 5 books every ambitious man should read.
Ambitious Book #5: The 10x Rule by Grant Cardone
The 10x Rule is essential reading for every ambitious man. It forces you to think bigger, act bigger and take action to fulfil your potential.
The majority of people are stuck in mediocrity because they have small goals. And these small goals don't give us the emotional charge and inspiration we need to create great things in this world.
This book works on the assumption you should take actions that are 10X greater than what you believe are necessary to achieve your goals and the biggest mistake people make in life is that they don't set their goals big enough.
It’s the big goals that excite us and bring out the best in us. And this book shows you how to make these goals and take action to achieve them.
Ambitious Book #4: Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goldman
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand and manage your own emotions and influence the emotions of others.
Many men believe that emotional intelligence is a feminine trait. This couldn't be more wrong. Research shows that when it comes to succeeding in life, emotional intelligence is more important than IQ. You need to understand your emotions and harness their power to perform at your best.
Emotional Intelligence shows you how to successfully develop the different components of emotion – like your ability to handle impulses, defeats, challenges, anxiety and setbacks. Goldman shows how emotional intelligence can be nurtured and strengthened in all of us.
Ambitious Book #3: Getting Things Done by David Allen
This book is considered by many as the father of the modern productivity movement. In my opinion, it's one of the greatest books of all times. It is certainly one of the most influential books of its era.
Getting Things Done shows you how to execute your biggest dreams and ambitions.
When I interviewed the author David Allen – he told me something very interesting:
“There are no problems, there are only projects. If you haven’t labelled the problem as a project, you are a victim of the situation.”
Take some time to think about this: to feel empowered, think of your problems as projects and focus on moving towards the outcome.
Ambitious Book #2: How To Win Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie
You may have heard of this one. How To Win Friends And Influence People is one of greatest books ever written on the topic of human relationships. Many ambitious men think they can achieve their goals by themselves.
This is a myth.
We have to realise that we will only be able to accomplish our greatest goals through the help of others.
This book will teach you how to become a real leader in this world, how to get people to like you, how to make life-long friends and bring them to your way of thinking. It will also show you how to build meaningful relations. Dale Carnegie's book is an essential read for anyone looking to better themselves.
But of course there can only be 1 winner. Drum-roll please!
Ambitious Book #1: As A Man Thinketh by James Allen
Written in 1903, As A Man Thinketh started the modern self-help movement despite being only 50 pages long.
As A Man Thinketh helps you understand how powerful your thoughts are and how you are shaping your life. It focuses on understanding ourselves and our fellow men and the circumstances we experience on a daily basis.
Every single sentence in this book is loaded with wisdom. You’ll want to read this book over and over again until it sinks in. I can't recommend this book enough and for that reason, it's the book I recommend every ambitious man reads.
So there you have it, gentlemen. The 5 books every ambitious man should read. Pressed for time? Too busy to read for hours? Well you're in luck. These books, along with several others, are also available in audio form, so you can listen to them on your commute to work. Make every hour you're awake as productive as possible!
